In its simplest terms, homelessness is defined as the absence of a place to live. Approximately 235,000 Canadians experience homelessness each year.

One in five of all rental households in Canada spend 50% of their household income on rent. With the rising cost of groceries, gas and utilities, more and more people are finding it difficult, if not impossible to keep a roof over their heads.

A booming real estate market is also making selling an investment property very attractive. Landlords are asking tenants to vacate at the end of existing leases in order to sell.

We are seeing more and more "hidden homeless" as people are forced to stay with family or friends because they have nowhere else to go. A lack of affordable housing has now become a crippling crisis in Canada.

All human beings crave a place to call home. A safe haven to live and raise a family. The harsh reality is that this basic fundamental need is becoming harder and harder to attain.
